Privacy notice
Last updated: October 11, 2026. Version 1. Aviso de privacidad en español: /es/privacidad/
1. Who is responsible
Isaac Alexander ("we") operates aldeathaipenthouse.com and is responsible for the personal data described in this notice. Address: Penthouse 315, Aldea Thai, Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Privacy contact: privacy@aldeathaipenthouse.com.
2. What we collect
When you visit the site we record the pages you view and for how long they were on screen, how far you scrolled, the website that referred you (its name only), any campaign tag in the link, your country (worked out from your IP address, which we do not store), your language and your device type, and whether you click through to Airbnb, Vrbo, WhatsApp, a phone call or email to the listing agent. When you search dates we keep the month, the number of nights and the number of guests, not the dates. We also record when you open the photos, print the fact sheet or follow a link to a place, and page speed on some visits. If a cookie is set for you (section 3) we also record a random visitor code so that repeat visits count as one visitor.
Visits from search engines and AI assistants are counted separately by name.
We do not collect sensitive personal data, payment details, your name or your email address through the site. The visitor code is never linked to a WhatsApp chat, a call, an email or any message you send. When you tap the WhatsApp button the message carries a short reference code (for example Ref PH-K7Q2) that tells us only which kind of link or search first brought a visitor to the site.
3. The cookies we use
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime | Flags |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ph_vid | us (first party) | Random visitor code used to count visitors, repeat visits and the pages of one visit. It contains no name or email. | Up to 13 months | HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax |
| ph_consent | us (first party) | Remembers your Accept or Reject choice. | Up to 13 months | Secure, SameSite=Lax |
| ph_optout | us (first party) | Remembers that you asked us to stop counting your visits. | Up to 13 months | Secure, SameSite=Lax |
| _clck, _clsk | Microsoft Clarity, only when switched on and allowed | Groups the pages of a visit for anonymous heatmaps and session replays. | Up to 1 year, and 1 day | Secure |
4. Why we use it, and your consent
We use this information only to understand how many people visit, which pages, sources and languages they use, and whether they reach the booking and listing links, so we can improve the site. This purpose is optional. You can refuse it (section 5) and still use the whole site. We use the information for no other purpose.
If you are in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or Quebec, or your country cannot be determined, we set the cookie only if you choose Accept in the banner, and our legal basis is your consent. Until you accept, and if you reject, no cookie is set and Clarity does not load; we count your visit only with a code that changes every day and cannot be traced back to you. Elsewhere, by continuing to use the site after reading this notice you agree to this use, and you can withdraw it at any time.
5. Your choices
Stop counting my visits: use the button below. This deletes ph_vid and prevents it from being set again on this browser.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a Do Not Track (DNT: 1) or Global Privacy Control (Sec-GPC: 1) signal, we treat it as a refusal: we do not set ph_vid and Clarity does not load.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them.
Anyone can change their choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
6. Who receives your information
Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site and stores the records on our behalf, under its customer data processing addendum. It does not use them for its own marketing. Cloudflare operates in the United States and other countries, so your information can be processed outside your country.
Microsoft Corporation provides Microsoft Clarity. When it is switched on and you have not refused it, Clarity records anonymous heatmaps and session replays with every form field masked. Microsoft keeps recordings for 30 days and heatmaps for up to 9 months.
If you click to Airbnb, Vrbo, WhatsApp or the listing agent, that company's own privacy policy applies from that point.
7. How long we keep it
The cookies last up to 13 months in your browser. Visit records are deleted automatically after 25 months. Records of your cookie choices are kept for the same period so we can show what you agreed to.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to receive a copy of it. In Mexico these are your ARCO rights (access, rectification, cancellation and opposition). Write to privacy@aldeathaipenthouse.com. We will answer within the time your local law allows. Because the visitor code is random and holds no name, we may ask you for the date and time of your visit to find your record. You can also complain to your data protection authority: in Mexico, the Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno; in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office; in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada; in the EU, the authority of your country; in the United States, your state attorney general.
9. California and other US states
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in US state privacy laws, and we do not use it for targeted advertising. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: see section 5. No third party collects information about your activity on this site across other websites or services.
10. Changes
We will post changes on this page and update the date above. If we ever want to use your information for a new purpose, we will ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
