Four ways to get from Cancun airport to Aldea Thai in Playa del Carmen, with times and what to check before you book.
Checked October 11, 2026
ADO bus
ADO runs from Terminals 2, 3 and 4 (none from Terminal 1). The fare is usually about MXN 270 one way and varies by date. ADO lists about 1 h 15 min; its FAQ allows 1 h 30 to 1 h 50 depending on terminal and traffic. The bus arrives at the ADO station on Avenida Benito Juárez 251, a 22 minute walk (about 1 mile) from Aldea Thai or a short taxi ride.
Private van
The owner's pick is Mayaway Transfers. Book ahead on WhatsApp. Other companies publish rates: eTransfers and Cancun Airport Transportation list a private van from about USD 69, in 50 to 60 minutes (their own figures; prices vary). TopKlass Travel also runs transfers. Ratings on their sites are the companies' own claims, so ask for a permit and insurance before you book.
Taxi
Use the official airport taxi counter or a pre-booked transfer, and agree the fare before you get in. We found no official fare table, so we quote none.
Rental car
Enterprise has an airport counter and is the owner's pick, who found that office excellent. Avis, National and Hertz are there too. Mexico requires third-party liability coverage. The drive is about 33 miles on Highway 307: 43 minutes in traffic on 10 October 2026 per Google Maps, 45 to 60 per the building. In Playa, America Car Rental has an office inside the Aldea Thai complex on Calle 26 Norte. Unload at the front entrance on Calle 28; the garage is on Calle 26.
